Where % of marks is not awarded by the institute and only
grades (eg. GPA / CGPA / CQPI) are awarded, the same should be converted to
the exact equivalent % of marks as per the following formula -
On a 10 point scale CGPA/GPA of 6.0 will be considered as 60%.

The MBA/PG Diploma/PG Degree/ M.Sc / M.Tech must be from
recognized University/Institutes recognized by appropriate statutory

The above minimum marks are for General & OBC (Non Creamy
Layer) category candidates. For SC/ST & Persons with disability (Minimum

Final year / semester students can also apply provided they

However, the minimum criteria of marks shall also apply for them for the completed degree.

* 72 posts are reserved for Persons with disability (min 40% disability) as per Government Of India norms against the identified posts Note: Number of vacancies is tentative and may increase or decrease as per requirement. 3.0 SELECTION PROCESS Eligible candidates will be required to appear in the All India Selection Test at their own expenses and only candidates qualifying in the written test will be called for Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:3 (3 candidates called against 1 vacancy) keeping in view the provision of reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH. Management reserves the right to shortlist the candidates for written test also. Test Centers: The written test will be held at Kolkata, Ranchi, Mumbai, Bhubaneshwar, Srinagar, Guwahati, Raipur, Bhopal, Lucknow, Delhi, Jaipur, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Bangluru and Chennai- as mentioned in the online application. Candidates will have to choose one test center preferred from the list and the same cannot be changed after the form is submitted. However, Coal Written Test: The written test shall be of three (03) hours duration comprising of 2 papers both of which will be in the form of multiple choice questions (MCQs). Paper I will consist of MCQs on General Awareness & Aptitude and Paper II will consist of MCQs on Technical aptitude in the relevant discipline for which the candidate applies. Each paper shall consist of 100 questions with 100 marks. The questions of the test will be bilingual (English and Hindi).
4.0 APPLICATION FEE - Candidates belonging to General/OBC (NCL) is required to pay a non-refundable fees of Rs 500/-. SC/ST/PH/ employees of Coal India Ltd and subsidiaries are exempted from the payment of application fees. State Bank of India has been authorized to collect the application fee, in a specially openedPower Jyoti Account No. 32306580317 on behalf of Coal Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Candidates are therefore requested to verify their eligibility before paying the application fees. 5.0 RESERVATIONS AND RELAXATIONS
1.
Reservations and relaxations for SC / ST / OBC (non-creamy
layer) / PWD (degree of disability 40% or above) candidates will be provided
as per guidelines of Govt. of India for the purpose.

Age relaxation is applicable for ex-servicemen category

6.0. OTHER DETAILS:
6.1 Compensation / Pay - Selected candidates will be placed as Management Trainee in E2 grade in the scale of pay of Rs. 20,600 - 46,500 at the initial Basic of Rs.20,600/- during the first year (Training period). On successful Completion of Training and passing the test conducted for the purpose, regularization will be in E3 grade in the scale of pay of Rs. 24,900 - 50,500 at the initial Basic of Rs.24,900/- with probation for 1 year. Besides basic pay, candidates will also be entitled to other pay and perks including Dearness Allowance, HRA, perquisites and allowances under cafeteria approach and other allowances as applicable for the post. Benefits such as leave, medical treatment, CMPF, pension, gratuity etc. will be admissible as per company rules in force during training and after absorption. 6.2 Posting: Candidates may be posted anywhere in Coal India Limited / Subsidiary companies especially in coalfield areas. 6.3 Service Agreement Bond: Finally selected candidate is required to serve the company for a minimum period of 60 months. An amount of Rs.5000/- per month will be deducted from the salary for a period of 60 months. Failure on the part of candidate to serve the Company for a minimum period of 60(sixty) months would result in forfeiture of the said deposit. The amount so deducted will be refunded in full with simple interest on completion of 60 months of service. The candidate will be required to execute a bond of Rs 3 Lakhs (Rupees three lakhs) for the same. 6.4 Medical Examination: Before joining service, the selected candidates will have to undergo initial medical examination by the company Medical Officer as per the Medical Attendance Rules of the company and the decision of the board will be final and binding. Before applying, candidates should ensure that they fulfill

After applying online, candidate is required to print the
application form with unique registration number generated by the system.

Candidates are advised to keep several copies of the passport

7.1 Admit Card: Candidates who are allowed to appear
for the All India written examination are required to login to Coal India
website to down load/print their admit card for appearing at the written
test. Candidate should carry the admit card to the test center for appearing
at the written test. No candidate shall be allowed for written test without a
valid admit card.
7.2. Personal interviews: List of candidates who qualified/ shortlisted for interview will be given in the website and they will be intimated about the time and venue. The interview call letters also required to be down loaded/printed from the company website on the announcement of interview schedule. Similarly, the final list of selected candidates will also be given in the website and they will also be intimated about the joining date and other formalities through website and emailing to candidates email ids. 8.0 GENERAL INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS

openings for dynamic and result-oriented young engineers with post-training placements at our Headquarters in Hyderabad or any of Zonal/Branch/Site Offices located across India. The areas include Design & Development, Projects, Marketing, Production, QA and Field Engineering.
STIPEND: The selected candidates will undergo training for a period of one year on a consolidated stipend of Rs. 25,790/- per month. They are also entitled for PF and subsidized transport & canteen facility, etc., as per rules of the Corporation. On successful completion of training, they will be appointed as Engineer (Contract) for a period of three years with total emoluments of Rs.36,690/-p.m., during 1st year, Rs.37,810/-p.m., during 2nd year & Rs.38,950/-p.m., during 3rd year (for all Metros) which includes variable DA and fringe benefits under Cafeteria approach. On successful completion of contract appointment, they will be absorbed as Technical Officer in the scale of pay of Rs.16,400-3%-40,500/- with total emoluments of Rs.40,140/- (with variable DA & Fringe benefits under cafeteria approach). Further, on completion of one year service as Technical Officer, they will be considered for promotion to the post of Senior Technical Officer, in the scale of pay of Rs.20,600-3%-46,500/- depending on their performance and suitability.
Method of Selection: The selection process will be through a written test and interview. The written test (objective type) is of 2 hours duration on engineering degree syllabus in respective discipline through process of OMR sheet. The written test will be held at the following cities spread all over India: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna & Trivandrum. The candidates are required to select any ONE Examination Centre only, of their choice. The centre selected once is final and cannot be changed. Details with regard to date, time and venue of written test etc., will be posted on our website. It may please be noted that no Travelling Allowance (TA) is admissible to candidates appearing for written test .
Relaxations:
1. Qualification: First Class with 65% and above marks in aggregate in Engineering Degree is relaxed to second class with minimum 55% and above marks in aggregate for SC/ST Candidates.
2. Age: Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy layer) candidates. In respect of PWD candidates, belonging to SC/ST the age relaxation is 15 years; OBC for 13 years and General for 10 years. Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989. Interview: Only those who are selected in the written test will be called for interview at Hyderabad. The date, time and venue of interview will be intimated by mail / SMS. The same will also be posted on our website.
The candidates called for interview shall present mandatorily the following documents at the time of interview for verification. (1) On-line registered application form duly signed and with recent colour passport size photo affixed, (2) All original certificates in support of his / her date of birth, qualification, latest caste & disability (PWD) certificate along with a set of photo copies, (3) Hall ticket which was attested by the Invigilator at the time of written test & (4) Interview call letter. Failure to do so entails summary rejection of his/ her candidature. Travelling Allowance is not admissible for candidates called for interview. However in respect of Out-station candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD to and fro 2nd class rail fare by shortest route from station mentioned in the address for correspondence given in the on-line application form (within India) to Hyderabad is admissible, upon production of documentary proof. Bond: The selected candidates are required to execute a Surety & Indemnity Bond on separate non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.100/- each to serve the Corporation for a period of 4 years (1 year as Trainee + 3 years as Engineer - Contract). The amount payable for breach of contract is Rupees Four Lakhs only.
HOW TO APPLY:
1. Eligible candidates have to apply „ON-LINE‟ through https://ecil.gov.in/ for getting connected to Advertisement details or they can use ECIL website http://www.ecil.co.in/ by selecting „Careers‟ followed by „e-Recruitment‟. The on-line application process will be operational from 07.05.2012 (1400 hrs.) to 21.05.2012 (1600 hrs.).
2. State Bank of India has been authorized to collect the non-refundable application fee on behalf of ECIL, in a specially opened Account Number 31102144119 available on our website from 07.05.2012 Candidates have to download and print the Pay-in-slip and approach the nearby SBI branch for remitting the non-refundable application fee of Rs.200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only). The Pay-in-slip printed from the portal should only be used for depositing the fee for proper crediting of amount in the allocated Account. On receipt of the money, the Bank will allot a Journal Number, Branch Name and Branch Code. This journal number, Branch Name and branch code are to be filled-in, by the candidate while applying on-line. ECIL will not be responsible, if the candidate deposit the fee in a wrong account. There will not be any other mode of payment of application fee.
3. The candidate can take a print out of the blank application proforma provided as a link on the main page, fill up the required information (in Capital letters) as per proforma along with the application fee details and apply through On-line, so that the data furnished is error-free.

4. After applying on-line, the candidate is required to take the print out of registered on-line application form with system generated application number without fail and may be retained by him / her. Please note down your application number for future reference. The candidate can take re-print of his/her registered on-line application form before the last date for On-line registration. Write the system generated on-line application number on the ECIL copy of the Pay-in-slip form. The online application form need not be sent by post to ECIL.
The candidate has to sign on print-out of on-line registered application form by affixing the recent colour passport size photograph of 4 X 3 cms., and enclose the photo copies of date of birth, educational qualifications, experience if any, caste & Medical Certificate (applicable for PWD candidates only). The candidates who are selected in the written test and called for interview are only required to submit the same at the time of interview. The candidate can retain a copy of the registered on-line application form and candidate‟s copy of Pay-in-slip of application fee for future reference.
